Water and Waste Water

The drought across much of Australia leading up to 2011, inspired massive investment in securing the country’s water supply. This led to the upgrade, design and construction of numerous water and wastewater plants, of which many have Challenger Valves and Actuator’s products installed. The renowned quality of the “Challenger” Butterfly valve is well received within this industry.

Other products supplied into treatment plants include:- Stainless Steel and Brass, Ball, Gate & Non-Return valves in addition the Ductile Iron Gate valves and Non-Return valves are also sought after products.  Pneumatic and Electric actuation both feature heavily in these plants and Challenger stock all the ancillary Solenoids and Switches.

 

Many of Challenger’s larger diameter products have also been installed into pump station & reservoir applications, some of which include:- manual and actuated Butterfly valves, Rubber Flex Joints and Dismantling Joints, also Flanged Gate/Sluice valves & Non-Return valves. Our fully equipped engineering workshop enables us to manufacture items such as Spindle Extensions and specialist paint coatings for coastal or buried service applications.

 

The size of investment in sewerage infrastructure across Australia has mirrored that of water, in recent times, Challenger has been proud to supply products into many of the various plants and pump stations constructed or upgraded during this period.
